Bay Bridge Run

Beautiful day, 6:40 am, 10K Across the Bay, my Dad, Dr. Bob, and known as Capt. Bob in the Islands, completed this race in 1985

The day started with an early visit to Navy Marine Corp Stadium, parked for no fee across the street, jumped on a bus and was at the start in less than 20 mins. Race folks knew what they were doing, smooth.

Super early morning greeting by Anthony and Pam Flake, Jen and Craig Barnabee, and a host of numerous friends. Really cool, no pun intended, it was pretty cold.

Starting chute was full, and filling, and everyone began their journey. An incredible morning for the race, and to see over 15,000 folks enjoy the moment was really special. Everyone had a smile , all were enjoying, great way to spend a Sunday.

Take away. Great way to spend a day with friends, family, and others enjoying the "moment "

Always enjoy the " moment..."

Inspiration

Concluding 7 years, or perhaps  beginning 8 years in multi sport , IE Triathlon, retrospect, appreciation, and humbleness sets in.

During the early years, personal tumultuous issues crowded the landscape. Some how in 2011 and 2012 IMAZ became reality.

Along the way , there were several nuggets, or as my Dad, Dr. Robert C. Bauman , " Dr. Bob" stateside in the United States, and "Capt. Bob" Down Island or the Keys would say find your "acorn" and follow until you find your next, and never stop.....

Those acorns have come in many fashions, those of you who do Tri's understand, it can be the next buoy,  the next water stop, or the next mile. All of which hold a very special value to each and goal.

Diverging...., yesterday at a Corporate meeting, all hands, Champion Realty,  a division of Berkshire Hathaway, a new associate approached me and shared she had seen and read two letters from my daughter Amalie on the wall in my office area.  She said she cried when she read them, and I should be very proud of my kids.

That hit home. I see and read those letters every morning , not really taking it in, allowing  the negative of the day, week, month or year  to overcome and dilute. My new associate in the firm , allowed me to see the Forest thru the Trees, my daughter's  letters were right in front of me, and I thank her , truly.

Inspiration, I believe that is how this diatribe began.... , is my daughter Amalie, her support, kindness, and love are unfathomable. I will begin to search the vast archive for the letters, and will post to this, IE append to share, I believe uno is on FB as pic. In the interim..

Thank you Amalie, your are my inspiration. Love - Dad
