Where to start.......
Many have lost loved ones, friends, acquaintances, or an individual (s) in that "1" degree, it is no longer "7" degrees of connection. Prayers, thoughts, and god speed to them.
Reason for this diatribe? food for thought...., no pun intended, and there is a silver lining....
Recently, at least for the last friggin god awful 8 weeks, anyone should have to endure, nor wish upon your worst enemy.. maybe.... , all have had a fair amount of time to analyze, reflect and understand what the ham sandwich we are all going through, good, bad, or ugly. If you haven't, stop reading, and go protest a protester....
One of the hardest hit economic channels is the Hospitality, Restaurant, Lodging, and all related industry: food, restaurant, hotel, resort, destination, supply and fulfillment. The businesses that have adapted, transformed, and have moved to a curbside, take out, delivery, to the door service, are trying to make it.
Trying times produce innovative actions to survive. Establishments that utilize, in no order of preference: Grub hub, Door dash, Uber eats, Fed Ex, UPS, and more, have created new delivery channels for their survival, to their customers, delivery of their service, product or goods, w / little or no contact, they order, ship and receive. Kudos.
The silver lining: these firms / establishments, large or small can embrace the new found revenue stream, mandated, not chosen, ie expedited shipping, curbside and delivery, and when the god awful restrictions are lifted, and the return of internal brick and mortar service, these firms can grow both. Two revenue streams, one which was marginal at best prior to the China Virus, now absolutely vital and essential, coupled w returning to traditional service, in house, will result in growth.
Yes, there will be adjustments, modifications, service levels, # of deliveries, locations, patrons in house, curb side, however, the end game, two distinct, well defined revenue streams combined, will result in growth, once all settles down.
So that is my 2 cents, hope these thoughts are helpful.
Additionally, one last vent, the phrase, "we are all in this together..." coming from elected officials currently receiving pay checks, "assuming" they know better than the citizens that elected them, yes, elected officials work for us, not the other way around, imagine that........
Remember... when elected officials "assume", they are making an "ass" out of "u" and "me", there is no "u" in citizens....
All, please be safe. God Bless America. God Help Us.
